I am a long-standing and chronic back pain patients taking opioids daily. Things are much stronger than Lortab (hydrocodone), due to increased tolerance gradually in recent years.

I tried the lidocaine patch in the past, and personally, it means little or nothing. However, each different injuries and different body chemistry, so why not work for me or someone else has, does not mean it will work for you.

As I said before, I had severe chronic lumbar spine (and leg), pain for years. One thing I've learned is that you give any medication, or an honest attempt before giving up to be. Two things that help with my pain is * very * Voltaren Gel and a drug Neurontin. First, none of these really nothing. But after two weeks trying to Voltaren gel, and about a month to try Neurontin, these two drugs have started a big help. If I had done what most people who try and after a few days of work not only to those who quit smoking, I would notLevel of pain relief that I do now.

Be patient and give an honest attempt, but if it really does not work, tell your doctor if you move around too. Finally, you will find what works best for you.

I worked with patients who use the patch and Lortab. Most tell me that the patch it does much good. I want to make sure that your doctor has X-rays to verify that you and other issues to take before any medication. Good luck!
